MUPSIS (Mobile Utility Pole Smart Inspection System) is a pioneering EU-funded initiative aimed at modernizing wooden utility pole inspections. Leveraging advanced radar, multispectral imaging, IoT, and drone technologies, MUPSIS provides precise, non-invasive assessments of pole conditions, significantly improving safety, reducing costs, and extending infrastructure lifespan.

The project MUPSIS 2024 is co-funded by the European Partnership on Innovative SMEs and supported by the Latvian Council of Science and the Research Council of Norway.

AERSEA is a technology-driven SME specializing in drone-based remote data collection and aerial inspections. With expertise in BVLOS drone operations and high-resolution sensing, AERSEA enables comprehensive, remote infrastructure monitoring across energy, environment, and utility sectors.

Sadales Tīkls

Sadales Tīkls is Latvia’s largest electricity distribution system operator, managing over 90,000 km of power lines and more than 1,050,000 utility poles, including approximately 838,000 wooden poles (the rest being metal and reinforced concrete). In MUPSIS, the company contributes its deep expertise in infrastructure maintenance and wooden pole management. With in-house pole production, a skilled workforce, and a focus on innovation and sustainability, Sadales Tīkls ensures reliable, efficient, and future-ready electricity distribution across Latvia.
